The Number 1 Way Spammers find your Email Address

Tired of spammers?

While we can’t avoid all spamming, here is a way that I make it harder for them to clog my email with irrelevant offers etc.

On my website, I do not place my contact information in “type” our copy or content on the page; but as a jpeg “image”; a type of photograph of my contact information. By doing this the robots don’t see this and also would be spammers. Then, in all of my 100 blogs (yep, I’m the “Man of 100 Blogs and teach success in blogging) or my ezines, and other materials I tell people that they can find my contact information at the top of each of my webpages at www.terscott.com or at: www.terscott.com/contact; a page where they can actually complete a form to contact me.

Here’s a “picture” (jpeg image) of my contact information.

The above is not "typed" out, but it is a "photo" of my contact information.
It was created in Corel Draw but you could create something similar with other software.

I was just updating my contact information on all of my pages and thought that I’d share this SEO tidbit with my followers. If you like this and would like not to miss any future tips, be sure to register to “Follow this blog” by email. (It may be shown differently on this page but you’ll find it).
As a great side benefit of doing this (creating an image) is that when you title this image correctly using a keyword phrase that people are searching) your image will show up in Google (and similar search engine) Images!

One last thing I’ll share about placing your contact information on your site and elsewhere that is crucial. Never use info@yourwebdomain.com as your email address because this is widely used by spammers to find you. It probably is the number one way spammers find you to clog your email with unwanted offers etc.

Make it a great day!

PS. If you want to save money every time you purchase imprinted promotional items such as pens, calendars, apparel, awards, mugs (basically "Anything with an Imprint) visit: www.myimprintrep.com. Also, check out one of the newest security sites on the web to get "Everything Security" at www.scottsecuritysource.com where you'll find over 500 Non-Lethal Security Products for personal, home and business.

Add Voice to your Web Page to Keep Visitors Attention

If you do not know this tip, here it is: Your site will rank higher, and your page rank will be higher in the search engines when your visitor stays a bit longer. In the "old days" when the Internet was just starting, web wizards would add all kinds of gadgets and doodads like puzzles, riddles and other nonsense (nonsense because it didn't relate at all to the content or theme of the site) to keep people at the site/page longer.

Today content is king so you really can't do that "crap". But here's something that you can do and it increases the credibility in the eyes (and ears) of your visitors.

Credibility and visibility equals profitability! - Ter Scott!

If you are able to do this (in a very professional way), have a voice over audio that welcomes your visitors! If you do this "wrong" or "cheaply" and not produced well, you'll do more harm than good. If you have a voice over person or service that you work with; fine, but do this. I think you'll like the results.

For my readers who do not have a voiceover artist at this time, allow me to give your two minutes of my time, free! Here's a write up about my service and you can take advantage of the special as long as it is available.

Have a professional 2 minute voiceover message to welcome visitors to your website home page by Voiceover artist, Ter Scott. Scott has been “the voice” for theaters, and multiple companies and now your visitors can get a professional welcome with the sound of a warm baritone voice enticing them to stay a bit longer on your page, which if you don’t know, will increase your site’s rankings in the search engines!

OK, how much?

Ter has charged as much as $500 for a 2 minute blurb and other voice artists can charge $1000 and more for their talent. Remember the value is not in having someone speak for two minutes; it is the fact that you’ll add credibility to your site, and your customers will know that you are the “real deal” and hopefully stay a to read what you have for them (information site) and/or buy from you (retail site).

For a limited time you can have this service for no cost when you place an order for imprinted promotional items of $1000 or more at www.MyImprintRep.com/123order. Wait a minute, you are probably already using imprinted promotional items to brand your business; things like pens, calendars, and apparel. If not, you should. So now, when you order anything from MyImprintRepDOTCOM (even specials and closeouts) you’ll get a 2 minute professional voice on your site!

Quick tip gets people to your web page... give information; don't ask to buy, at least right away.

One way to get traffic to your website so you'll have an opportunity to offer good content and either sell them on your way of thinking (informational site) or an actual item (retail site) is by first writing something on your blog that interests them (people find or stumble upon blogs a bit easier than sites and blogs create a relationship instead of outright "selling") and from your blog, gently persuade them to click to go to your site.

In a moment I'll share a link to one of my 100 blogs (I'm known as Ter Scott, the Man of 100 Blogs) where I use this very technique so you can copy it and see how it works for you.

First, let me ask you, which would you rather click (if you want more information and "perhaps" maybe buy something):
1. Click here to buy...
or
2. For more information visit...

I remember what I learned from Tom Hopkins the Sales Champion guy: "People don't like to buy, but they love to own". That's a whole seminar in itself but for now let's just try not to use the word "buy" and use something similar as I did for number 2 above.

At this blog post, you'll see how I chose to use:

rather than "buy pepper spray" or "buy college survival kit".

You can read the entire blog post here; it's short (that's another thing, consider the length of your blog posts; see what works best for you).

As marketers we always need to be thinking before we do things and also testing. This is a "small" thing that I do. Sometimes I do things so quickly and automatically that I don't always catch myself but when I did this I thought that it would be something of interest to my readers. Try it, test it and tell me how it worked.

Make it a great day!
Ter
