The Number 1 Way Spammers find your Email Address

Tired of spammers?

While we can’t avoid all spamming, here is a way that I make it harder for them to clog my email with irrelevant offers etc.

On my website, I do not place my contact information in “type” our copy or content on the page; but as a jpeg “image”; a type of photograph of my contact information. By doing this the robots don’t see this and also would be spammers. Then, in all of my 100 blogs (yep, I’m the “Man of 100 Blogs and teach success in blogging) or my ezines, and other materials I tell people that they can find my contact information at the top of each of my webpages at www.terscott.com or at: www.terscott.com/contact; a page where they can actually complete a form to contact me.

Here’s a “picture” (jpeg image) of my contact information.

The above is not "typed" out, but it is a "photo" of my contact information.
It was created in Corel Draw but you could create something similar with other software.

I was just updating my contact information on all of my pages and thought that I’d share this SEO tidbit with my followers. If you like this and would like not to miss any future tips, be sure to register to “Follow this blog” by email. (It may be shown differently on this page but you’ll find it).
As a great side benefit of doing this (creating an image) is that when you title this image correctly using a keyword phrase that people are searching) your image will show up in Google (and similar search engine) Images!

One last thing I’ll share about placing your contact information on your site and elsewhere that is crucial. Never use info@yourwebdomain.com as your email address because this is widely used by spammers to find you. It probably is the number one way spammers find you to clog your email with unwanted offers etc.

Make it a great day!
